CONFLICTS OF INTEREST RAISED AFTER MUDJIMBA COMMUNITY MEETING

I attended the Mudjimba Residents Association meeting Tuesday night where discussions were held with local division councillor Jason O’Pray.

I’ve attended many MRA meetings and they’re an informed and lively bunch – many issues were raised from engaged members.

Vice President Rowan Stanley who chaired the meeting was interviewed the following morning.

There is a lot of historical knowledge in Mudjimba. Some interesting points are made in the audio linked below.

On conflicts of interest – the new Belcarra has resulted in legislation that would now see the previous donor to the incumbent councillor prohibited under the new rules banning developer donations.

I strongly support the local government reform but it still has some way to go.

This is why I am completely independent – I will not compromise my ability to be truly representative.
